Bookman’s

3733 W. Ina – 579-0303

Dana Murray-Robbins, director of marketing for all Bookman’s locations says that although they don’t currently offer any book clubs at the stores, there are programs for young readers. "We have a Kid’s Club program, where children fill out an application at one of the stores, with a parent’s signature. They receive a packet of goodies at that time, and also receive a membership card which entitles them to a 10% discount on all their purchases. During the month of their birthday, Bookman’s mails them a postcard good for $5 free merchandise."

Ms. Murray-Robbins also says that the stores are open to kids who want to start their own book clubs – like Julia Brown did. "If anyone is interested, they need to give us a written proposal, and we would be happy to work with them," she says.

Both Bookman’s locations also offer the frequent reader program for kids. Children can read 10 books, write a paragraph on each book, and bring their paragraphs to the store to receive one free book.
