Holiday
Aftermath: You survived
the holidays, but now what?
For many people, the holidays are a time of mixed emotions. For those of us who suffer from bipolar disorder, this time of year can be deadly. As we know, mixed emotions are never that simple for a bipolar! One of the most common holiday side effects is depression. Are you staring at that Christmas tree wondering what will happen if you leave it up for next year? Or maybe you went on a spending spree and spent the governments budget surplus on Christmas gifts.
Whatever the dilemma you find yourself in, rest assured that you are not alone. If you would benefit from support, this site has many links to tremendous resources, which include online support groups. An excellent way to lift your spirits is to exchange support and advice, along with anecdotes and jokes with other bipolars on an email group. Or maybe a good chat with some friends in far away places would be a welcome interlude to balancing your checkbook. Free chat rooms are a great way to save on your phone bill too! Who knows, maybe someone can give you some advice on what to do with the worlds longest living Christmas tree.
