Something Out of Nothing:
Unused Spaces Transformed
Your guest room closet can house a computer desk and printer. When the doors are shut, the computer is protected from little users. The upper area of the closet can be fitted with an area to store all the program boxes, user manuals, and CD-ROMs.
You can also put your exercise equipment in the closet, and drop down the treadmill when you are ready to exercise. Be sure to include a shelf for the TV/VCR and a modified stereo cabinet so you have entertainment while walking or jogging.
Closets also make great areas for craft or firearms work. Install a pull down table and custom storage spaces, and with the addition of a secure lock, you have a safe, secure place to work on items that are not child-friendly.
If your entryway is large enough, or if you have a large landing, install a reading bench. The inside of the bench can be used for storing a warm blanket. Add a little table to hold a cup of tea and some accessories, and there will be no more fighting over the LaZboy.
