A Seasoned Investor Takes
The Long-Term View
A seasoned investor shares his portfolio management style along with his asset-allocation strategy and demonstrates the benefits of having a long-term outlook.
BY SHERI WALLACE | Dave Sauder was literally born to have a portfolio. "My father is a stockbroker and would always 'talk shop' at home so it was a natural progression for me to invest. He's been a broker for a little over 40 years but does very little brokering nowadays since he's enjoying semi-retirement." Dave also learned about investing in school when he took a couple of high school classes that "taught the basics of money and investing." Dave became even more interested in investing when he obtained his MBA and took some more financial management courses.
Dave is quick to point out that not everyone has to have a broker in the family or have an MBA to be a successful investor. Some of his greatest learning experiences have been from reading the books by Peter Lynch on investing. "I highly recommend these books to both the beginning and advanced investor. His philosophies and strategies are proven to be successful."
